Office workflow guide

A clearer court-document handoff.

Six checks for the person preparing a file and the person reviewing it. Use this to make the next step visible in your traffic or criminal-defense office.

An operational checklist; confirm applicable court requirements with your office.

  1. 01

    Confirm the Person and Matter

Check the person’s information against the office’s source record. Keep separate court Causes in separate Matters, even when they involve the same person.

  2. 02

Check the court and full Issue numbers

Review the court-assigned identifiers as provided. Do not guess a court or combine records from similar-looking numbers.

  3. 03

    Choose an office-approved template

Confirm that the selected form fits the intended court and task. Check attorney attribution and required inputs before generating.

  4. 04

    Review the planned files

For the letters and bonds in our example, review a letter for each court and a bond for each Issue. Other templates may group their files differently.

  5. 05

    Inspect the output

Read the saved document, not just the input screen. Check names, court information, layout, dates, and any values the preparer entered.

  6. 06

    Assign the next handoff

Make clear who reviews, signs, files, or serves next. Document generation does not itself complete those actions. Confirm deadlines with the office’s authoritative sources.
