Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Movant ("we," "us," or "our") provides legal practice management software used by legal offices and their authorized users. This policy explains how Movant collects, uses, stores, and shares information when people use our website, application, communications, and optional integrations.
2. Information We Collect
Account and contact information: Names, email addresses, telephone numbers, mailing addresses, account identifiers, roles, and authentication or account-recovery information.
Legal-practice information: Client, matter, court, deadline, task, document, communication, intake, assignment, and case-status records entered by authorized users.
Financial information: Amounts, payment methods, transaction references, trust and operating-account records, and related accounting information. Movant does not intentionally store full payment-card numbers.
Files and identification information: Documents and identification information that users or legal offices upload or record for authorized legal work.
Technical and security information: Device, browser, IP address, audit, error, and security-event information needed to operate and protect the service.
3. Google Calendar Data
Connecting Google Calendar is optional. When a user chooses to connect Google, Movant receives the permissions shown on Google's authorization screen and may access the user's Google account identifier and email address, calendar identifiers and metadata, and event information needed for the calendar features the user enables.
Movant uses Google Calendar data to list eligible calendars, import connected Google events or availability into Movant, write authorized Movant events to a selected Google calendar, maintain synchronization state, and prevent or reconcile repeated synchronization work.
For an office-level connection, Movant may create a dedicated Firm Docket calendar and manage sharing rules on the calendar Movant creates. That enables an office administrator to share the Firm Docket with selected recipients. Individual staff connections do not request Movant's office-calendar creation or sharing capabilities.
Access and refresh tokens used to maintain a Google connection are encrypted at rest. Movant also stores connection metadata, granted scopes, external calendar and event identifiers, synchronization status, and imported calendar information needed to provide and troubleshoot the integration.
Calendar visibility inside Movant follows office permissions and the connected user's visibility setting. Personal imported events default to Busy-only visibility for coworkers unless the user or an authorized administrator selects a more detailed setting.
Google user data is not sold or used for advertising. Movant shares it only as needed to provide the requested integration, with the connected Google service, authorized users under the office's access settings, and service providers that process data for Movant under appropriate obligations.
A user can disconnect the integration in Movant and can revoke Movant's access from the security or third-party access settings of the user's Google Account. Disconnecting stops future synchronization and removes the active OAuth credential stored for that connection. Calendar items already copied into Google or retained as authorized office records may remain until deleted under the controls and retention rules applicable to those systems.
Movant's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to provide, secure, support, and improve Movant; authenticate users; enforce office-scoped permissions; operate case-management workflows; generate and deliver authorized documents and communications; synchronize optional integrations; provide support; prevent abuse; and satisfy legal or professional obligations.
Movant does not use a user's Google Calendar data for advertising or to build advertising profiles.
5. SMS and Email Communications
Legal offices may use Movant to send authorized transactional communications such as court-date reminders, case updates, payment confirmations, document requests, intake links, and account notices.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Where SMS opt-out applies, recipients may text STOP to opt out and HELP for assistance. Movant does not sell contact information for third-party marketing.
6. Information Sharing
Authorized office users: Information is available according to the office, role, matter, calendar, and record permissions configured in Movant.
Legal and operational recipients: An authorized user may direct Movant to send information to clients, courts, counsel, service providers, calendar recipients, or other participants in legal work.
Service providers: Hosting, storage, email, SMS, monitoring, calendar, and other vendors process information only as needed to provide services to Movant.
Legal requirements and safety: We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, Movant, or others.
No sale for marketing: We do not sell or rent personal information or Google user data for advertising or third-party marketing.
7. Security
Movant uses safeguards including TLS in transit, encryption for designated credential and sensitive-data fields at rest, access controls, office scoping, audit records, and operational monitoring. No system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Retention and Deletion
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain authorized legal and accounting records, protect security and audit history, resolve disputes, and comply with legal or professional obligations.
Retention may differ by data type and office policy. Requests to access, correct, disconnect, or delete information may be sent to the address below. Some records cannot be deleted immediately when an office or applicable law requires their preservation.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on the account, office relationship, and applicable law, users may request access, correction, export, restriction, or deletion; change calendar visibility; disconnect Google Calendar; revoke Google access; or opt out of applicable communications.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Movant's services or data practices change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required.
